CRKT Branded Camp Axe
The CRKT Brand
Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) was founded in 1994 and is based out of Tualatin, Oregon. CRKT collaborates with designers to produce some of the highest quality products across the categories of tactical, fish and hunt, outdoor, survival, everyday and multi-tool.

An area of design opportunity exists in CRKT's outdoor category. While the outdoor category includes several models of hatchets, tomahawks and axes, all of the models are very traditional. Opportunity lies in designing a tool with updated material and function for the modern explorer.

The Nomad axe packs a saw which securely folds into the handle. A standard reciprocating saw blade is accepted by the holder and can be secured in place with a set screw. A stainless steel liner lock keeps the saw blade locked open while in use.

Situational Tools
Secondary tools can be swapped depending on the use case. A widened hammer poll for pounding stakes and crushing things and a mattock for digging and chopping.

Sheath
The sheath is designed to be rugged and lightweight and allow for quick access to the tool. The molded kydex seats tightly around the axe and the snap closure keeps everything secure. A simple polymer clip is a versatile solution for securing the axe to a belt or backpack.
